Yesterday, Morgan sang in the children's choir, at the afternoon session of General Conference. She was so excited for this opportunity, and they have practiced so much. Matt and I were able to attend the meeting. We were on the floor, about 15 rows from front. It was so awesome to literally be learning at the feet of the Prophet and the apostles. The children's choir brought a sweet spirit to the meeting, and to see our daughter there, was wonderful as well.

My step mom had brought over some flowers for Morgan. We also made her a candy-gram, to let her know we were proud of her. They really did work so hard. I had no idea, before this experience how much they practice, do dress rehearsals, etc.
Candy-gram for Morgan. With more treats on the back, too.
I loved the messages that were given throughout this whole conference. I especially loved Elder Wirthlin's talk on laughter, and Elder Holland's talk on angels. I believe there are angels that minister among us, and it was awesome to hear their words. I am sure that it brought much comfort to those who are suffering the loss of loved ones. I know that as I listened, I thought of a couple people who have lost their little children recently. I have mourned for their losses, and have tried to appreciate and enjoy my children more, because of their examples. I loved President Monson's talk on having Joy in the Journey. I think that it is so important to remember to have that joy, even when times are tough. It is sometimes hard to remember that in the moment, when things aren't going well, or as planned. However, I made a comment on my blog a while ago, that I need to enjoy the moment, in other words have joy in the journey. I have tried to do that more lately, and although I am far from perfect at it, I am getting better. I hope that I can always remember to have joy in my journey.

Grahams!!! Lauren and I were at that session of Conference also! When we got there I remembered that you had posted that Morgan would be in the Children's Choir and so we looked for you. We saw her on TV and assumed that you'd be there, too. Bummer! I take my kids when they turn 8 on a special trip to Utah for General Conference with just the two of us. I had asked Lauren before we went if she wanted to visit anyone and she said she'd rather just spend time with me, so I didn't make any arrangements. Too bad we didn't see you. Lauren said she would like to move to Utah so she could sing in the choir! GREAT singing Morgan! So glad you didn't scratch your face with your finger and look like a nerd! : )
Such a great experience for Morgan!! I am sure she will remember it the rest of her life. Tell her that we are so happy for her.
That is sooo awesome, what a neat experience. The choir was phenomenal!
