Still going...

Well we had about a week respite of no-one sick at our house. And then we all got the stomach flu AGAIN. It is not December- what's up with this? During that non sick week we did a lot of fun things though. We went swimming:

We went to the amusement park.
We played with cousins:
We went to the library and to

Boondocks:

and a campout in the backyard with cousins.

Hopefully we can all get healthy again soon so we can squeeze some more fun into our summer.

Boondocks

We went on a little trip to Boondocks yesterday. The kids had so much fun! They were able to mini. golf, ride go-karts, water bumper boats, laser tag, 4-D rides, play arcade games, etc. We have never been there, and we stayed for hours. They had a great time. I think they were glad to get out of the house, and have everyone healthy! :)

Fireworks

The kids had a great time doing some fireworks with friends in front of the house. What is it about kids, loud noises, and fire? They all loved it though! We put Camden in bed before we started, because he still talks about the fireworks at the park. They say Boom! They scary! My eyes my eyes! :) We decided to spare the poor kid more trauma.

Swine flu?

After being exposed to swine flu, and everyone in our family having all the symptoms, I think it's safe to say that's what we've got. I've been cleaning up after sick kids for 6 days now. I hope to be done soon! What's up with being sick in July? My house is now sterlized though. (At least for the moment...)

Oklahoma

Last week we were able to go to visit friends in Oklahoma. We have some wonderful friends there, whom we miss dearly! We went to Ted's straight from the airport, and it did not disappoint. In fact Matt ate there 3 times during our short visit. :) We ran into our former Bishop there, too. We had a BBQ/Pool party at the Merkley's house. Most of our friends were there, and it was so good to see everyone again. When we first moved there, most of us had 1 or 2 young kids. Morgan was only 15 months old! It is so strange to see all of these teenagers, and so many other kids. Everyone there had 4 to 5 kids now. Yes, we have multiplied and replenished, plus some.
We were also able to do some shopping, boating, and attend our niece Jessica's wedding. It was a great trip. The kids loved reconnecting with old friends, and we did too. Oklahoma will always hold a special place in our hearts.
I guess we were just having too much fun that I kept forgetting my camera, so these are from my cell phone, and don't include Dillon and Logan, except the backs of their heads.

Trophy wife

My boys finished up their baseball season in June. They came in 3rd place in their division in the tournament. They got a trophy, and I mentioned in passing to Matt that I have never had a trophy. I wasn't feeling sorry for myself- just saying, the boys had tons of trophy's from various sports. I never thought another thing about it until this arrived this week.

Now I can say, I have a trophy, (whether I earned it or not, is up for debate) and am now at the age of 37 a trophy wife. :) Thanks for always thinking of me hon!

Happy Birthday America!

It is nearly impossible to get a good picture of Camden, with everyone else, so you get what you get!

The 4th of July is always a big day in the life of our kids. They love it, almost as much as Christmas. Matt took the kids over to the the breakfast in the park. I didn't make it, because it was a last minute decision, and I wasn't ready. Afterwards, we go to the parade, where we sit in the same spot every year. The parade is so fun for the kids. They love spending this holiday with their cousins. They also come home with a haul of salt water taffy.

Some parade excitement!

After the parade, we go to the fireman's barbecue. Matt's brother, Mike is a fireman, and they put on a BBQ for the families every year. They have a firetruck that sprays the kids, and that is definitely the highlight.

Then, in the evening we head to the park, and listen to the symphony, in the amphitheater. When the fireworks are ready to start, they play the 1812 Overture, and the cannons go off. The kids all know what that means, and they start to huddle together on the blankets for the firework show.
Playing with cousins on the blankets, waiting for fireworks.

I thought Camden would be scared by the cannons. He didn't mind them at all. However, when the fireworks started, he was terrified. He didn't cry. He just sat on my lap as still as he could. (This is not a normal occurrence!) We looked at his face, and every time a firework would go off, he would scrunch his whole face up and close his eyes.

Here is a picture of 'the look of terror' I have no idea why it is flipped, even when I correct it, it still stays flipped.

He started saying, "All done- fireworks all done." I asked is he wanted to turn around, and lay his head on my shoulder, and he said yes. He ended up falling asleep that way. (He hasn't fallen asleep in my arms since he was a newborn!) He was so cute... I know he was scared to death, and this is probably mean of me, but I completely enjoyed snuggling with him. It just doesn't happen very often, so it was so nice. He will not stop talking about the fireworks now. He says the same thing almost every time. "Fireworks say BOOM! Fireworks scary. In the sky. My eyes, my eyes!" Then he repeats it again, and again. Oh well, maybe next year he'll enjoy it. :) We had a great day.
Finally, a cute picture of Camden...before the fireworks.

I had to put this one in, because it is a rare thing, to catch this little guy sleeping.
