Logan's party

Well- we were healthy enough to host Logan's belated birthday party. Yay! He wanted it at the skating rink, and he wanted an Army tank cake, like Dillon had last year.

He had a great time with his friends. They bounced on the inflatables, skated, played games, hide and seek, opened gifts,

ate and in general had a great time. He is so lucky to have so many good friends that live so close. Happy 8th birthday Logan!

Cub Scouts

Today was Logan's first day of Cub Scouts. He was so excited to wear his uniform, and start working towards his Bobcat. I hope this excitement for scouting lasts!

Look at the cute boy in his new uniform:

And this one just because now I have TWO scouts:

Party poopers

Well- Logan's birthday party is postponed! Poor kid woke up today feeling sick to his stomach, and had a fever. He stayed home from school, and I was feeling crummy too. My throat was really hurting, so I asked if his hurt. He said it kind of hurt. I am pretty good now (unfortunately-lots of experience) at telling when we have strep around here. Yep- both of us have it- so no party for Logan! We did schedule it again for next Friday- so hopefully all will go well then!

It's great to be 8!

My little spikey blond haired, blue eyed boy is eight! Logan has been eagerly anticipating this birthday. It's a big one for him. He begged me to wake him up early, so he could enjoy his day a little longer.
He was *so* excited about his new scriptures. The first thing he wanted to do was mark the sacrament prayer in the Book of Mormon. Funny kid! :)

We surprised him during lunch, and picked him up from school, and took him to Chuck E. Cheeses. He *loved* it!

We always let the birthday child pick where they want to go out to eat for dinner, and he picked Tepanyaki. It was so good! They sang and brought Logan ice cream. He had a great day! Logan is so much fun to have in our family. He has boundless amounts of energy and excitement, and it's hard not to smile at his excitement over even the little things. Example: "Oh I LOVE this blue shirt! You bought it just for me? It's awesome!" And so on, and so on. He is one smart little cookie, too. His teacher tells me every time I see her, that Logan amazes her- especially in math. He can figure out problems so quickly! I hope this always is the case- because I am lacking in math skills. :) My kids always tease Logan that he is always just trying to get on my good side, because he constantly says cute, nice things to me. That may be true, but he sure knows how to make a mommy feel good! He constantly kisses, hugs, and compliments me. It is the point that even Camden now will say things like "Mommy- you hot!" Because of Logan's constant comments. I love you Logan! We are so proud of you and hope that 8 is great for you!

We are having Logan's party tomorrow with his friends, so we made a cake for that. Since it was just one day after his birthday, he decorated his own little cake for his birthday, and will get the big cake for his party with his friends.

Vacation time!

We had a great trip! Matt took all the boys on a 'roadtrip' and drove to California. Morgan was not able to be gone from school for that long, so he took the boys to Disneyland all by himself. Seriously- I kept telling him he was crazy, and to leave at least Camden- but he insisted on the boys trip. They had so much fun at the "Mickey Mouse Goon!" (We are not even allowed to call it Disneyland around here. Bossy little two year old!) They went to Disneyland one day, and then the next to the beach.

Then, on Friday night, Morgan and I met up with them. We were able to go to Disneyland on Saturday. The rides weren't too busy, and of course- they all had fun!
This one cracks me up, because we are on the *slowest* ride ever, and he is holding his hands up like we are on a fast roller coaster.

Then, on Sunday, we went to tour the temple grounds at the Newport temple, before our cruise.

We boarded the ship, and spent the next 7 days chasing Camden around. :) He liked the "hotel boat", but he made us crazy wondering if we would always catch up to him, before he fell over the edge of the boat. Yes he's a climber, and a runner. If you put him down- he runs full speed away from us. We lost him once. 5 seconds is all it took.

We were playing miniture golf on the top deck, and I went to take a picture of Dillon and Logan, and he ran off during that time. He ran down two flight of stairs and into an elevator before we caught up to him. It was one of the scariest few minutes of my life. We didn't see where he went, and of course, I assume the worst, and think he has climbed the rail again, and managed to go overboard. He spent a good deal of time buckled into the stroller after that little escapade. We realized he is seriously lucky to be alive. After getting lost that time, and then choking. I mean really choking. Then in Mexico he ran full speed away from me, and into a busy street. Seriously the kid must have a guardian angel, because there were cars zooming as fast as can be, and I was yelling STOP!! He wouldn't and ran into the street. Thank goodness a man saw my frantic yelling and running, and grabbed him right before a car hit him. He is soooo fast! Anyway... that was a little side note. The trip was fun, but not terribly relaxing for us. :)

We stopped at 3 ports. Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, and Cabo San Lucas. In Puerto Vallarta, we spent all of our time at a beach resort. A good deal of time was spent trying to get away from the waves. (But loving when they caught up to them!)

It was so much fun. Dillon and Morgan went para-sailing,

and we all enjoyed the sand and sun.

We enjoyed it a little too much, because even with our sunscreening, we all got burned.

Because of this, we couldn't go to the beach in Mazatlan. That is all I really wanted to do, but we all have too fair of skin. Darn it! We shopped around most of the time in Mazatlan. I was determined to goo to the beach again at Cabo San Lucas. It was beautiful there, but my least favorite day. I think I would like to go back and visit, but not go to the beach where we ended up. Matt took Dillon fishing, and I took a water taxi to a beach that was recommended to us. It was a major party beach. Drinking and craziness was going on- and I was completely stranded there, until our water taxi came back to pick us up. Morgan and Logan spent most the time in the water, so thankfully, didn't even notice the wildness on the beach. Camden was not in a good mood and cried almost the whole time.

I wanted to cry with him. :) Twice, guys that were about 20 or so came up to me and made comments about Morgan. Once, the guy was pretty nice, and said something about her being "nice to look at and a nice girl too." The other time the guy said, "Oooh- is that your daughter? She is very nice, very nice. Good job momma. I like her. Yes- she is very nice." In a creepy voice. Seriously- who says that to a mom about their daughter? I hate that she does not look 13!

Anyway- the kids had a great time in the kid programs on the boat. They stayed up late every night and loved the all you can eat ice cream. They loved swimming,

dancing, and all the crafty things they made.

We had a great time hanging out with them, and spending time together as a family.
One last thing before I end this novel....I have to add this picture, because it makes me laugh, every time I see it. The boys were bored, so I gave them a list of things they had to find on the boat, and they had to take a picture to show it to me. One of them was a guy with a hairy chest. They came back with this picture:

I can just picture them sneaking up and hiding to get this shot, of this guy. They thought they were so sneaky and funny. Well they made me laugh!

We had a great time, but were ready to get back to our regular schedules. Now...catch up with homework, assignments, and tests begin.

Best Husband/Dad EVER!

I seriously have the best husband ever! How many guys would take their 3 boys on a road trip, and go to Disneyland by themselves? How many guys would fly their wife and daughter down later, so his daughter wouldn't miss as much school? Not many! Especially when one of those boys is two and not potty trained, and well..... very two? Matt always thinks of others needs before his own. I was talking to Morgan and saying she is going to have a hard time, when it's time for her to get married. She will have a hard time finding a guy who lives up to her expectations of what a great husband/father is, because of her Dad. She will have to be picky, which is fine with me! Matt is the BEST! Now- here's praying that they have a safe/happy/non-fighting/helpful/successful drive!

First thing I heard this morning...

"Only 20 more days 'til da Mickey Mouse Goon! I so esited to go to da Mickey Mouse Goon! I wanna push da alligator buttons in da hotel. It'll be great!"

(Now a translation/explanation. Mickey Mouse Goon is Disneyland. Camden is obsessed by Lagoon, and when we showed him pictures of Disneyland, he was screaming..."Mickey Mouse Goon! See it not closed!" And the alligator buttons? The elevator. I think he is as excited about that as much as anything else. The boys have been counting down the days until they leave, and Camden hears them, but doesn't quite grasp the concept of time. He will be thrilled when they actually leave tomorrow!)
