We went on a retreat with the young women from our ward this weekend. One of the leaders parents have a huge nice "cabin" that we were able to stay at. It was more like a HUGE house in the mountains. We easily fit with all the young women, leaders and priesthood. When we first got there, some girls and I were in a 4-wheel drive with another leader. We thought we could try to drive into the driveway, and start getting things set up, before plowing the driveway. Nope. We got stuck. One of the few pictures I took. (From the inside of my warm car, being pushed by a group.)
After we got unstuck, we ate dinner, played games, stayed up way too late talking, up early the next morning for a big breakfast, etc. It was such a nice weekend to spend time with them, away from cell phone service and other things that keep us busy. I took almost no pictures.
Morgan and her friend Hailee:We got almost no sleep. (An hour and a half or so.) However, it was still a great time, and much needed bonding between the girls and leaders.
I love working with these young women, and am feeling sad that I most likely will be released, because of Matt's new calling. :( Never- say, "Oh I hope they don't release me for a long time!) Oh well! I guess if I'm looking on the bright side, at least I won't have to camp in a tent for 5 days this August. :)

New Calling
Matt received a new calling this weekend. He was called to be the first counselor in the bishopric. It's kind of funny that the night before we went in to meet with the stake president, I had a dream about who would be in our bishopric. After he asked Matt if he would accept the calling, he asked if we wanted to know who our new bishop would be. Of course we said yes. When he told us who it was I gasped, because that is who I dreamed about. I dreamed the counselors in the right order, too. I have been calling our new bishop "bishop" for 2 months. I have been teasing him and his wife for quite some time, and they have been teasing Matt as well. His poor wife gets horrible sick when she is pregnant, and she has to get IV's several times a week. I have never met anyone who gets as sick as she does. I think because of this, she thought the calling of bishop was not even a possibility. They sure have a lot going on, but he will be an amazing bishop. He is great with the youth, and will be great for our ward as well. I am excited for our new bishopric. (Except for Sacrament meeting I may be giving mean looks to them, since Camden is not always the perfectly well behaved 3 year old you'd expect him to be. :) ha ha!)
Matt's dad was able to set him apart as a high priest. It was really neat to have him able to do that. Since he is a convert, he hasn't been able to do that for any of Matt's other ordinances, setting apart, etc. It was very special to have him there, to do that.
One more funny thing- Matt dreamed before this that he would be called to be the 3rd counselor. :) He dreamed that they asked him to keep doing his stake calling as well. We laughed, until he got an email from a counselor in the stake presidency this week. He asked him to keep doing his stake calling, since they haven't thought about his replacement yet. Ahhhh,,,,, Dreams really do come true :) Hopefully he won't need to have both for too long of a time! :)

Happy Birthday Logan!
My little blond haired blue eyed boy is nine! We started the day bright and early. (He was excited!)
Logan opened his gifts, and then we made him a breakfast of his choice. (Chocolate chip waffles.) I picked him up from school, and took him to Boondocks for lunch and a little playtime, then back to school. After school we had his birthday party at Classic Skating with his friends. He had a great time! They skated, played on the jungle him equipment, bounced like crazy in the bounce zone, etc.
They were bright red from all the running/jumping/being crazy activities. Of course he requested a Lego cake. :)
After the party we went to his choice for dinner, Tepanyaki's, with his grandparents. (One of my favorite restaurants too!) It was a fun filled day. He was so cute and thankful for everything. Multiple times that day he thanked us for giving him "the best day ever", for his presents and for everything. He is such a sweet boy. He says the sweetest things, and is such a Momma's boy. I love it! Happy birthday little Lo-Lo!

New Beginnings
This year for New Beginnnings, we had the theme "Unlock the Treasure." We decorated everything with treasure chests, and piriate things. I thought the whole thing turned out great! I made necklaces for all of the girls that say: "Believe Hope Seek." It is hard to see from this picture though.
The theme this year is the 13th Article of Faith, so we took those words from it and went from there. I love being in young women's and hope they keep me there for a long time!

Dillon's testing
Dillon went to Primary Children's Medical Center for follow up testing. When we went back in December, after his surgery they were a little concerned that his right kidney was very dilated. However, now, although it is still somewhat dilated, they aren't worried about it. The reflux in his kidney appears to be gone! Yay! There was a chance that the surgery just wouldn't work for him, but it seems to have been fixed. He had to do his whole VCUG testing and the ultrasounds again, to determine if the reflux is gone. The radiologist couldn't believe how brave he was. He said, "I have had grown men, and much older boys than you crying because of the pain". He was so good! Dillon talked his ear off and asked LOTS of questions. I think that trait of always talking and asking questions helps him out in situations like this, where he needs to be distracted. Now, we don't have to go back until next year- so we are all pretty happy about that too.

Another misc. post
Just a miscellaneous post to catch up on what's been going on this month:
*The kids had their piano recital. (Morgan, Dillon, Logan) Sometimes I am so tempted to give into their whining about practicing, and complaining about lesson. However it is great to see and hear their progress, so we remain resolute in keeping them in lessons. They did a great job!
*Morgan also was asked to sing in Sacrament meeting. She did a beautiful job! I love hearing her lovely voice. I know I've said it before, but nothing makes me smile more than hearing her sing her heart out in the shower every night. The girl loves to sing!
*Dillon and Logan are both in basketball right now. They love shooting the ball, but not so much going to their practices. I am sure it's because of the fact that neither of them have their friends on their team, so they feel they are missing out on valuable social time. Logan's practices are every Friday night at 7:00, and games are always Sat. (Usually into the evening.) So Matt and I feel we are missing out on our social time as well. :)
*Matt is on the Chamber of Commerce board of governors. We went to the chamber dinner a couple weeks ago, and had a nice night out. (Other than the fact that it was 3 1/2 hours long!) However, it was good to get out together, and to hear how things in the community are going. Plus, they fed us, and I didn't have to cook, so it's all good.
*Dillon participated in the science fair at his school. He loves science! However, he did not love his project so much. Next year- he has some great ideas....if he doesn't procrastinate. I think it was a great opportunity for him to participate, and he did a great job.
*Morgan is in the advanced choir at school. Her school was one of 3 selected to go to the state honors choir performance. It was held at Cottonwood High, and she was so excited to do it. I was able to go and watch and had a great time listening to the choirs participate. It was a competition (kind of!) They compete and get judged, but don't tell them the results. Weird! Anyway- I thought her choir was by far the best choir- but I may be a little biased. :)
Anyway- just wanted to note a few happenings in our life in the last month, since I have let this blog take a back burner to things!

Craftiness
I don't know what's gotten in to me. I am not a crafty girl. However, lately I've had the bug to create crafty things.
