Hawaii 2012

Oh Hawaii. How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.....
Pictures are worth a thousand words, and let me tell you I took about 1000 pictures. Here are a few:

Our awesome neighbors, and their two kids, (above)
We had a great time staying in Ko 'Olina on Oahu. I think heaven must really look like Hawaii. We had beautiful, perfect weather and a great time! We spent a great majority of our time at the beach and the pools. Morgan got to do a surf lesson, we had shaved ice, and shopping. We even saw the Hunger Games on opening day, because someone in our family is a little bit obsessed. (Logan has read the series 8 times.) We went on a sailboat tour to see whales. Some saw the tail of one whale, but Matt and I sat at the back of the boat, one of us (not me) had their head buried in a bucket and didn't see a thing. (Not the best part of the trip.) We went to the north shore a few times, saw the temple, and beautiful beaches. We went to the Dole Pineapple plantation and to the flea market. We were even so lucky to be in Hawaii at the same time as our awesome neighbors in Oklahoma. Our hotels were right next door! We got to go to dinner with them one night, and had a great time catching up. The kids snorkeled, and built sand castles, watched sand crabs, and painted t-shirts. The kids were literally hanging on the palm trees the morning of our departure, because nobody wanted to leave. I'm already dreaming of the next time we can go to Hawaii.......

Star Spangled Banner

Morgan and two of her friends sang the national anthem at the wrestling match at her school this week. I thought they sounded great. I love hearing her sing. Hopefully this video will upload. She is singing soprano.

Grades

Morgan achieved the high honor roll again. (3.7-3.99 g.p.a) Dillon and Logan both got straight 3's. (Which is the highest their school gives out.) Yay! So that means we get 18 donuts from Krispy Kreme. (They give out 1 for each A or equivalent, up to 6. Their favorite part of the whole term. :) Here's to the last term of the year!

Packing for Hawaii

Camden is so funny. He has been so excited about our trip. He has wanted to pack days in advance, when in reality, I never pack until the day before. He came down with his suitcase and informs me that he has packed. I dug through it and found: 5, yes FIVE cats, a dog, a toucan, two blankets, a swimsuit, licorice, his bank, and books. What else does a four year old need besides his cats and treasures on vacation? :)

St. Patrick's Day

I think there is some Irish in our bloodline. However, I think on St. Patrick's Day we all kind of adopt the "Luck of the Irish" philosophy. We did the typical turning of the water green (which Camden was HIGHLY impressed by.) And those little leprechauns left these little treats for the kids.

Camden was as excited as he would be if he got real gold.

Cat party

Camden and I got to have a cat party today. What's that you're wondering? Well, let me tell you. It involves Camden's 4 stuffed cats, that he adores, going in to my room, shutting all the blinds, laying on my bed with said cats, and tickling his back while I tell him a story. If they were real cats, believe me- I wouldn't have been so agreeable. But since they weren't real, and he cuddled up to me and I got to lay down IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY, it was actually pretty nice. Camden is pretty hilarious. He definitely beats to his own drum, but he makes us smile about 100 times every day. And in case you were wondering what he named his cats:

Belle (his favorite), Shakes Tail, Meow Cindy, and Snowflake.
