Park

To celebrate my dad's birthday with the family, we went to the park and had a barbecue. We ate, played with cousins, fed the ducks and swans and had a great time. The other kids are way too fast and don't sit still for their picture to be taken. They have too much fun playing with cousins. However, they were there, I promise! :)

While Camden was feeding the ducks he saw a cute dog, and went nuts over it. The owner said he could pet him.

He asked what his name was and she said, "Franky." Now in his prayers he gives his thanks for Franky. Too cute! Camden has been asking to go to the park to play with the ducks, and Franky every since. However, it has been freezing, raining or snowing since then. Yesterday he said, "I don't like the snow! I go to a park and clean it up and make it dry." My sentiments exactly!

Dad's birthday

A few months ago I saw that Fiddler on the Roof was coming here. My dad has always liked Fiddler, so we got tickets to go with him and Dolores for his birthday. We went to the Melting Pot for dinner first. We had never been there. It was so good! We had a great time, and were sufficiently stuffed after finishing! I could have just eaten the appetizer and dessert and been fine. Mmmmm... Anyway- the play was great, too. I thought Tevye did a great job- as did all of the other actors. It was so fun to do that and do something a little different. I love going to plays, and just wish more of them came our way. I've been singing songs from it every since. Happy birthday Dad!

General Young Women's board tour

A few weeks ago, we went to the General Young Women's building and had a tour, given by general board members, with our Young Women. It was such a great experience. The girls loved meeting them. They loved going into the board room, and sitting in Sister Dalton's chair. It was wonderful to see how much these women love the girls. They hugged every one of them personally, and whispered something sweet and different to each girl. They were all beaming when we left. I loved being a part of it, too.

Painting

I am at it again. I painted my boys bathroom, in an attempt to add more color to the house. I though since it's a small room, it wouldn't take too long. I have no idea what I was thinking. This bathroom took longer to paint than any room I have ever painted. There are so many small things to tape, etc, and then I had to tape the stripes off. I am TERRIBLE at getting things straight, so it took me forever! I am happy with how it turned out, though. Now, if I could only get them to use this one, instead of showering in ours!

Massage Table

Matt is so funny! My neck has been hurting on one side for a while. One day he told me to lay down and he'd give me a massage, so of course, I did. He kept shifting and saying how hard it was to massage me like that. He said he needed a massage table to do it right, so I laughed and said, "Ya- you should get me one!" Well- guess what was delivered to my house today?
I really should watch what I say. I never in a million years thought he would remember a comment like that. Even when the guy delivered it, I asked him if he was sure it was supposed to come to this address. He double checked and said- yes, it has your name and address on it. What a great guy! He is always thinking of me. I need to step up to the plate and be a little more like him!

Bedtime stalling tactics

Camden, has it all figured out. He is smart enough to know that if he acts cute, we want to be around him more, and not put him in bed, even if it is time. Lately he wants to sing tons of songs, read tons of books, say long prayers, etc. Last night he said, "But it's still light outside!" (Darn daylight savings time!) But just look at this adorable little boy and tell me you wouldn't do the same thing....Let him stay up singing, until he gets ornery. :)

Mommy/Daughter Date

Morgan and I went to the Brian Regan concert on Saturday night. We had so much fun! He was so funny- and clean, which is hard to find in a comedian. We were going to go to Morgan's favorite restaurant, Biaggi's. However- there were a million different big events going on in Salt Lake, so every restaurant was so packed. We ended up going to Iggy's, closer to home. I love spending one on one time with me kids. That is when they really open up and talk. We had a great time together. Thanks for being a great date Morgan!

Dora House

My sister was getting rid of her daughter's Dora house and so she gave it to Camden. Wow! This has been his best friend this week. He plays constantly with it. He talks about it all the time, and makes little stories up about each piece. It is so cute to see him 'pretend play.' I am sure this won't last forever, but while it does- it is amazing!

Stay at home mom

It has been a bit of a crazy week. Logan's baptism, homework, concerts and rehersals, pack meeting, young women, the temple twice this week, and Dr. appointments. Stay at home mom? I don't think so! It feels like I have hardly been at home this week. Oh well- I wouldn't trade if I could.

Bear and Bobcat

Well- the boys represented our family well at scouts. Dillon earned his Bear and 2 arrows,

and Logan earned his Bobcat.
Congrats boys! Camden was so funny, because he kept asking, "Is Dillon gonna be a bear?" I'd say yes- he'll get his bear in a few minutes. Then when Dillon got his bear, he looked confused and asked, "Is Dillon a bear now?" Then he asked, "Is Logan a bear, too?" We told him no, Logan was in wolfs. He yells, "Woofs? They scary!" I am not sure if he thought the boys were going to dress up or not. He did look a little relieved when it was just his brothers riding home in the car, and not any wooded creatures. :)Scouting is a whole new language- just ask Camden.

Church

Yesterday was fast and testimony meeting at church. It was a great meeting! Many people commented on the 'sacredness' of the meeting. There have been a lot of different things going on here, and it has been kind of a hard week in the ward. I think a lot of people were reaffirming their testimonies, and it was a great day. Camden must have felt it too, because we never even had to take him out. :) I bore my testimony, and so did Matt, Dillon and Logan. I love those boys! I am so lucky to be a member of this church, and am so glad that Logan chose to become a member as well.

Logan's baptism

Logan woke up early. He was feeling sick, and couldn't go back to sleep. He felt sick for most of the day, but right before he was baptized, he started feeling better. He was so excited for his special day! He wanted to write about everything that happened, and all of his feelings. He was so cute!

He told me that even though the water was cold, he felt so warm inside. The program went well, and the baptism coordinator made a little scrapbook of his day. They had all the guests write their thoughts to him, and she put it in the book. Morgan sang with a couple other girls, and his Grandparents said the prayers. Afterwards we went out to dinner with both sides of the family. Lots of cousins and lots of fun! He had a great day! I am so proud of him. He loves reading and marking his scriptures, and is such a great kid.

Never stick your hand in a hole

I got a call from the school office today. It is never good to hear, "Well, we have Logan in the office. We think he's okay...." Logan was at recess and he and some friends saw a hole in the playground. They decided to see what was in the hole, so he stuck his hand down there. Apparently rats, or ground hogs, moles or mice don't like kids sticking their hands down there. He got bit on the finger. Nobody ever saw what it was, only that they saw a ground hog and a rat around that area earlier. Nice! He was bleeding, but he said it didn't hurt too bad. I called his doctor, and he was up-to-date on his tetanus vaccine, and didn't need rabies shots- so we were good. He is pretty tough, so he didn't cry about getting bit, he only started to cry when kids told him he might die if he got rabies. Once he realized he wasn't going to die- he was just fine. Matt asked him what he was looking for down there, and he said, "I just wanted to know what was down there!" Lucky him! He found out and has the bite mark to prove it. :)

Grandma

My Grandma passed away over the weekend, so we attended her funeral yesterday in Payson. Although the occasion wasn't ideal-it was good to see family members that I haven't seen in years. We took Camden with us, and he was so good. We didn't even have to take him out during the service. He was so cute- he played quietly next to us, until somebody mentioned the word "BYU" in a talk. Then he started chanting "BYU....BYU.... BYU..." However, he was quickly quieted with some Swedish fish. My Grandma has always been in great shape and good health. The last several months were extremely difficult. She went from dancing every weekend to not even being able to walk or talk. It is so nice to know that she is not in pain and suffering anymore. I am grateful to have the knowledge of eternal families.
