School Days

I know I've said this before but the last weeks of school are always crazy and busy! I cannot believe how many programs, performances, assemblies, projects, etc. the kids have the last week or two of school. One of my projects was for Dillon's teacher. She is having her first baby, so a couple of mom's in the class and I, gave her a baby shower. We held it during school, and had the kids all bring presents for the baby, instead of end of the year teacher gifts. She got a haul of stuff, and I think the kids loved doing this for her.
We have been spending our nights at the baseball fields, and various activities, so the month of May has gone in a blur of activity. Hopefully I will be able to keep up a little better in the summer. (I know- probably not!)

Camden's party and the weekend

For Camden's birthday we invited his Grandma and Grandpa over for dinner, and they celebrated with us. We then opened presents, and had cake and ice cream. Because of his love of Elmo, I made him an Elmo cake. When he woke up the morning of his birthday, he saw it sitting on the counter. He was so cute. He had the biggest look of joy and surprise. He kept saying, "Oh wow!" Throughout the day, he wanted to go see it. He didn't even ask to eat it. He just wanted to look at it.It was so cute.

He got a little tricycle, and kept saying, "My bike!" It has a little compartment in the back, and immediately he got his Elmo and put it in there, so he could give him a ride.

On Friday, we had Camden's birthday party at the children's museum. We invited all of the cousins, and they had a great time playing. Camden unfortunately, wasn't feeling great, and so he didn't want to participate in everything. We ended up taking him to the doctor's office that night, and he has a sinus infection, even in his tonsils. Poor little guy. The antibiotics seemed to help pretty quickly though, because the next day, you could tell he was feeling a lot better. The great thing about having a party somewhere else, is that they clean up and do pretty much everything for you. It's a piece of cake for us! Speaking of cake- they even provided one for him there.

Since it was Memorial Day on Monday, we went up to Matt's Grandparents land in the mountains, and had a BBQ. The kids love to spend time up there, especially with their cousins. They had a great time- and nobody fell in the water, which is pretty amazing, with our record. The kids run, hike, try to catch snakes, and see the Moose. They take their binoculars, and have 'scavenger' hunts, and have so much fun. We pretty much just follow Camden around, making sure he doesn't get hurt. He cannot sit still for 2 minutes, so we wander a lot. :) It turned out to be a really nice weekend.

My baby is 2!

When Camden was a newborn, I vowed to just cherish every moment, because I know how fast it goes. I know just how short of a time they are sweet little newborns. I truly cherished him, but realize I still can't believe how fast that time goes! One minute he was a sweet little newborn and the next a funny, adorable and emotional toddler, with a huge personality!

Camden is the epitomy of a toddler. So cute, so funny, so smart, so exasperating, and so into everything. I was talking with some ladies in my neighborhood a couple of weeks ago. They were laughing at how different they are from 1st time moms, to now, with several kids. They were saying how they'd take pictures of everything their child did, laugh at everything they do, etc. Morgan and I looked at each other and started to laugh, and they asked why. We told them it's because we are still like that with Camden. We ALL just adore this little guy. When he goes off to school he is going to wonder why everyone doesn't laugh at everything he says, or does. He is so dang cute though- we can't help it!

I am so grateful that Heavenly Father, in His wisdom gave me this sweet child to raise. I am so grateful to be his mom. I love his sense of humor. I love his dark, LONG eyelashes.

I love his soft, dark, curly hair. I love how much he loves his sister and his brothers. I love how curious he is. I love how he can remember things, that you wouldn't think he could. I love his sweet voice, and how he says "Mommy." I love how he loves to read books and cuddle. I love how he tries to tease and then says, "I funny!" I just love him.
Happy birthday little boy! We love you so much!!!

A few sayings from Camden lately:

"I nee a watcha show!"
"I nee my Elmo!"
"I wanna drink a milky."
"Shush! Quiet!" (Not my favorite phrase!)
"I nee a go owside."
"I nee ketchup!"
"Keen up keen up airbody keen up!"
"I nee a snack. I git it."
"Speshul! I speshul!" (Yep, that about sums it up. He IS special, and he knows it!)

Hair

Matt and I were watching the office last night and Matt made a comment that Camden's hair is a lot like Jim's. Ahhhh....he is right! We really need to get his haircut. I'm just not sure HOW to do that. We tried Elmo, suckers, Daddy holding him, etc. Dillon said, "Camden's hair is like Daddy's picture in high school, you know the one with the mullet?" Yep, it's time.

Do you see the resemblance?

May

May is always such a crazy time of the year at our house! End of level testing, school programs, baseball, soccer, performances, plays, art shows, birthdays, etc. Hopefully I will be able to catch up on blogging soon. Until then...
a picture of Camden...just because. :)

He *really* needs his haircut.

As you can see, we *tried* to get his haircut. To no avail. He is almost 2 and showing his age!

Mother's Day

Can I just say it? I have the best husband and children in the world. They sufficiently spoiled and pampered me. I am so grateful to be a mom. There was a time I wasn't sure that would ever happen, and every Mother's Day I remember those feelings, and give thanks that I am now 'part of the club.'
After Church, we went to my in-laws house. My sweet Mother-in-Law wouldn't let us bring a thing. She made us dinner, and we just sat around visiting with the family. It was a wonderful evening, and a great end to a special day.

Enchanted

We were "Enchanted" by Morgan's play last night. She had two performances yesterday but to her dismay, now it's over. She had such a great time this year in her drama class, and topped off the year as Giselle in Enchanted. She did an awesome job! The auditorium it was held in was a million degrees, so I don't know how they didn't pass out in costume, with the hot lights on them, but they made it through. She did so well, and is already asking if she can audition for community theater plays this summer. She has the acting bug! I love to watch her, because she doesn't have a nervous bone in her body, and she just shines. Love you Morgan!

**I didn't get good pictures, and hardly took any video, because they had a professional videographer come, and we are getting the video from him. The video cut off at this point for some reason- darn!

Happy 9th Birthday Dillon!

I can't believe you are 9 years old! I can't believe 10 years from now, you will be on a mission. Slow down Dillon- you are growing up too fast!
Dillon your Dad and I love you so much! You make us smile every day. We love the way your mind works and you think so differently about things. You amaze us with your insights and the things you notice. You are very perceptive, and notice the smallest details. If I ever look sad- you are the first to ask, "Are you okay Mom?" or "Mom- that lady in the car has an angry look on her face. I wonder what's wrong." You have such a tender heart- and we love that about you.
We love how interested you are in the world, politics, the weather, science, etc. You are always on a quest to learn.
You are always so nice to your friends- even when they aren't always nice. That is such a good quality Dillon!
We love how you want to bear your testimony, almost every fast Sunday. You are such a good example. You are already a missionary, even though you don't even realize it.
Dillon thanks for being YOU! We are so happy you are part of our family. Happy birthday Billy Goat! Love you!

Dillon's Party

Dillon was supposed to have his friend party at the park. We had reserved a pavilion, and had tons of Olympic type games planned. Well, the rain came down and floods came up, so we moved the party inside. We ended up having it to Matt's warehouse. We needed space for the kids to run around, do sack races, egg tosses, break the pinata, etc. Holy cow- 16 boys inside an echoing warehouse= C.R.A.Z.Y. !!!
They had lots of fun, and we kept them busy the whole time. We planned too many games, and didn't even get to all of them. I think the boys had a great time- and we are glad birthday's come but once a year. :)

One funny thing- Matt was playing a game with the boys, while I got the cake and ice cream ready. Matt was teasing Morgan and said to the boys that she was looking for a boyfriend. One little boy came up to Morgan and said, "So- was your Dad serious about you wanting a boyfriend?" She just kind of laughed, and he said, "I'm serious- do you like anyone?" She said No, and he said to me, "Okay- I'll take that,I'd like to be her boyfriend." He is 8! He flirted with her the whole rest of the party, too. (No- she didn't take him up on the offer.)
