Never stick your hand in a hole

I got a call from the school office today. It is never good to hear, "Well, we have Logan in the office. We think he's okay...." Logan was at recess and he and some friends saw a hole in the playground. They decided to see what was in the hole, so he stuck his hand down there. Apparently rats, or ground hogs, moles or mice don't like kids sticking their hands down there. He got bit on the finger. Nobody ever saw what it was, only that they saw a ground hog and a rat around that area earlier. Nice! He was bleeding, but he said it didn't hurt too bad. I called his doctor, and he was up-to-date on his tetanus vaccine, and didn't need rabies shots- so we were good. He is pretty tough, so he didn't cry about getting bit, he only started to cry when kids told him he might die if he got rabies. Once he realized he wasn't going to die- he was just fine. Matt asked him what he was looking for down there, and he said, "I just wanted to know what was down there!" Lucky him! He found out and has the bite mark to prove it. :)

Katie and her friend have been talking about a hole out in the field at recess that they say has a snake in it, though they've never seen it. I'll have to tell Katie about what happened to Logan and see if her weird curiosity about this "snake hole" will disappear.
I really hope so! :)
