This week we have been talking about the last week of Christ's life. Every day we have talked about what he did that particular day, read scriptures about it and had activities. The kids have loved this. They have asked some good questions, and really we have felt the spirit more in our home this week, and I think it's because of these activities. Some examples of the activities are: for Palm Sunday, we gave each of the kids palms, and talked about the significance, for the last supper we ate on the floor, around a table cloth, and had unleavened bread, nuts, olives, and other things they may have had in that time, we washed our feet, etc. For Easter morning we read about Christ's resurrection, and read scriptures about it. We'd made "resurrection rolls" where you put a marshmallow in the center of dough, and when baked, it melts, but leaves an empty hole.
It's been a great week, and think this will be the start of an annual tradition.
Yesterday we had our annual Easter egg hunt in the neighborhood. Camden was in the 0-3 group and we thought he'd dominate, since he is one of the older 3's and big. :) Not the case he examined and thoughtfully picked and chose the eggs and candy he wanted. He'd walk past 15 eggs to get a particular one he wanted. Next year he will move up to the 4-7 range and be hugely disappointed when he walks away with none. Those kids are fast! Dillon and Logan were in the same group as each other and their hunt takes maybe 60 seconds. I tried to take pictures but it is mass chaos once the whistle blows. :)
We also colored and decorated eggs.
This is always a hit with the kids as their inner designer comes out. Then on Easter morning, we found the eggs that were hid, and went on a treasure hunt for the baskets. We have been doing this since the kids were little, and it's always a hit. Afterwards, we went to church. Matt got to sit by me since the choir did most of the program. I think he decided he likes it much better on the stand, since Camden was a huge stinker during church. :) After church we went to Robyn and Chad's house for dinner with his family. Of course it was yummy and fun to visit with everyone. What a great week!
