The summer flew by, it honestly seems like I just wrote the last day of school post, and here we are. A new year, a new school for Morgan, and here I am with one kid at home. I have to admit, I cried when they went to school. Sure- I could do without the fighting, and the messes. We could use some more structure around here. But I miss them, when they are gone!
Morgan was so excited/nervous for Jr. High. She has been planning her first weeks outfits for weeks now. She was up at 5 something- too excited to sleep. She couldn't even eat breakfast. Oh- Jr. High days! I hope that she has a great year. It's a whole new world out there, and I have seriously been dreading her starting Jr. High for years. She had a rocky start to the morning. She was so eager to get to the bus. She and some friends planned to meet at the bus stop 20 min. early. They waited and waited, and it never came. They knew they were going to be late, so some moms drove past, and drove all 20 of them. I didn't even know until she got home. :( Apparently, she started running so she wouldn't be late, and biffed it on the asphalt, and scrapped her elbow pretty good.
She did have a good remainder of the day though. She had people she knew and friends in all of her classes, and the majority of her friends have her same lunch period. She was so worried about that, so I am glad it worked out in her favor.
Dillon and Logan weren't quite as eager to start school as Morgan was. (They didn't wake up at 5:00!) Logan was excited to get going though, and pretty hyper before he left. Dillon was probably more excited than he let on, because that's just how he is. I drove them to school, introduced them to their teachers, and then left them in a sea of other kids, waiting for school to begin. Logan is shouting, "I love you Mom!" as I am walking away, and Dillon gives me a smile and a head nod, while saying, "Chhh, Chhh" Which is his secret code that means, I love you, hugs and kisses. They had a great first day, and loved catching up with friends they hadn't seen all summer. They both went into detail about every thing that happened that day, including the boy who puked on the carpet 10 minutes after school started. Good times.
Camden kept asking, "Where da kids?" I would tell him, they are at school. He would say, "No! I go get in da locker." We went to Morgan's school several times, so she could memorize her class routes, and practice opening her locker. He always wanted to climb in it and hide. He is sure going to miss them this year! He has loved having them home this summer. So now, it's just he and I at home during the day. I can't even begin to think about when he will go to school! Camden and I made the kids special treats for the kids for their first day of school. Heart cookies, with "the best frosting ever."
